Colorado River Corridor Plan

A 32,000 Acre master plan for the eastern Colorado River corridor. The CRCP was planned through a joint working group of Travis County, LCRA and the City of Austin.

“The plan’s goal is to provide orderly growth in the Corridor and help preserve and enhance the area’s many valuable environmental, economic, recreational and cultural resources.”

Among the most difficult issues to reconcile was the historic use of sand and gravel mining, with ever encroaching development patterns.  Modern reclamation techniques were recommended in order to re-use the land once this valuable resource has been extracted.
